Dear Media Partner,

With the 2008 Florida Governor’s Hurricane Conference now in its 22nd season, the Media Room will once again be an important part of our conference offering to you and your organization. As of May 3rd, more than 2,500 conference participants have registered, including those from 4 foreign countries, 30 states and 59 Florida counties.  We look forward to another great year of educational training and sharing of best practices by many professionals in the field.

We are here to help you make the best use of your time and resources so you may obtain the best coverage of all activities throughout the week.

If your media organization is planning to cover the conference, please pre-register reporters and camera persons individually below.  Use the free-flow text box to list any additional requirements or technical needs, such as requests for interviews with specific speakers, or parking space for satellite trucks (located adjacent to the Convention Center).

All current information about conference training sessions, workshops, roundtable discussions and general sessions are available via the Program page of this site.

Information on press conferences and Q & A sessions with conference speakers and other entities will be provided via this Web page, as they become available.  Speakers may have time for additional individual interviews – subject to availability. Interviews will be held in the Media Room's interview area (again, 3rd floor of convention center - rooms 301 & 302), a designated quiet area near the Media Room or an external location w/backdrop of the convention center. Again, we will try our very best to honor all interview requests.

Lastly, and most importantly, media representatives must carry media credentials, a government issued I.D. Upon arrival at the convention center, please proceed to the 3rd floor Media Room (one more time - rooms 301 & 302) to register and be issued a conference MEDIA badge for access to all public conference venues.

Thank you for taking the time to help in this effort, I look forward to seeing you next week!

Best Regards,

Ann Rowe-McMullen, GHC Media Coordinator
